Also, it's almost that time... Be ready for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch coming in October!
September 23rd - MOMS Night Out
Painting with a Twist, Frisco from 7-9 pm
Painting with a Twist offers a creative and fun evening out with friends. The instructors will guide us through each step of creating a masterpiece while we enjoy appetizers, sip on wine and enjoy a few laughs. They provide us with paint, canvas and brushes and we bring wine and/or appetizers. This should be a blast!! We will be painting a picture of a cross (picture located above). Hope to see you there!! Look for the evite!
September 28th - Book Club
Join us, if you have any questions, please contact Meghan Martel at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our first book meeting of the year is on Tuesday, September 28 at 7pm at Bridget Jowid’s home. We will be discussing Isaac’s Storm: A Man, a Time, and the Deadliest Hurricane in History by Erik Larson. October’s book is Little Bee by Chris Cleave.
October 22nd – Trunk or Treat
Get your “trunk” ready to decorate for a fun family event! Many great memories will be made with our little ones (and moms & dads) dressed in their costumes and going car to car “trunk or treating” and parading through the parking lot at church....this is open to the parish and tons of fun!
October 24th – Parish Picnic
Another fun family event where we, the MOMS group, will volunteer & help out with the kids’ games. The Knights always provide a yummy lunch after mass with TONS of games, bounce houses, face painting, etc. for the kids.
This a gentle reminder to turn in your completed membership registration forms and dues. Thanks!
This year the Moms Group will extend our efforts to helping our Sister Parish, the orphange in Hondours, with their immediate need for shoes. The orphange, which was founded by Father Jim and our Prince of Peace Community 10 years ago, is in desperate need of shoes for the children. We have a group of volunteers going to Honduras the first week of October and we ask that each of you that can, please bring in a NEW pair of shoes (from payless, anywhere) that fits the following criteria:
- Sandals, Sneakers – that close with Velcro if possible.
- School shoes and Church Shoes
- Black Mary Janes that close with strap and White sneakers for boys.
The Committee would like to introduce you to our fundraising event of the year: "Faith, Hope, and Charity", 5K Fun Run/Walk and Raffle. Mark your calendars for March 5, 2011! This event will raise funds for 3 very deserving charities: Our Honduras Sister Parish, The Collin County Children's Advocacy, and our Prince Of Peace Church Outreach Program. Equally important, the event promotes health and wellness in our families and community. If you are interested in assisting on a committee or know of someone interested in being a sponsor for the fun run/walk or the raffle, please contact Liz Aldrine at 469-583-3100 or Bridget Jowid at 214-566-8020.
We are looking forward to a great year of creating lasting memories, good habits, and promoting wellness in our families and community while raising money for amazing charities!
